Arad Navizi
Arad Navizi (born in Tehran, Iran, 2003) is a 22-year-old Iranian filmmaker, distributor, and actor. He held a diploma in “Drama” from the Young Cinematographers Association Art School in 2021. Navizi began acting in performances and short films in 2018 and taught himself filmmaking. So far, he has made two short films.
For two years, from 2018, he worked as the international relations representative of an Iranian acting academy, during which he presented several theater productions from the academy at various international events. He participated in the Shakespeare’s Globe Conference, held in July 2019 in Beijing, China, and earned the organization’s certificate.
Navizi’s first short film, “The Thing” (Original title: «شِیء» | Romanized: Shey), was made in 2022. This film achieved several international accolades, including the Best Student Film award at the Garden State Film Festival and an award at the Josiah Media Festival. His second short film, “The Line” (Original title: «خط» | Romanized: Khat), was produced in 2025.
Since 2021, he has started studying for a bachelor’s in cinema at one of the BAFTA-qualifying universities, Iran (Tehran) University of Art.
